Who Formulates Born of Necessity
Every product in this range is formulated by one person, and that person is a registered healthcare scientist rather than a brand owner who commissioned a laboratory. This page sets out exactly what that means, and how to check it rather than take my word for it.

Twenty years in NHS cellular pathology, across histology, cytopathology and molecular diagnostics. The daily work is looking at tissue and cells and reporting what has gone wrong in them, which is a useful background for someone deciding what to put on skin that is already struggling.
What the registration means
The Health and Care Professions Council is the statutory regulator for biomedical scientists in the United Kingdom. Biomedical Scientist is a protected title. It is unlawful to use it without being on the register, and registration can be removed.
Registration requires an approved degree, evidence of continuing professional development on an audited cycle, and adherence to published standards of conduct, performance and ethics. It is a licence to practise, not a certificate that arrives in the post.
Specialist grade sits above initial registration. It is awarded on assessed practice in a defined discipline, examined against a portfolio of real casework, not on completing a course.
How to check it
The register is public and free to search by name at hcpc-uk.org. You do not need my permission, and you should not need my assurance. If a brand tells you a scientist formulated the product, ask which register, and then go and look.

What this does not mean
Being a scientist is a reason to trust the reasoning behind a formula. It is not a substitute for evidence, and I would rather say so here than have you assume otherwise.
I am not a dermatologist and nothing here is medical advice. These are cosmetic products. They are formulated to support and comfort the skin barrier, not to treat a diagnosed condition, and where a product page explains why an ingredient was chosen, that is an explanation of the ingredient, not a claim about what the finished product will do for you.
No clinical trial has been run on these formulations yet. When one has, the protocol, the sample size and the results will be published on this site, including anything that does not flatter the product. Until then you will not see the phrase clinically tested anywhere on it.
